Shipping & Returns

Most items are normally shipped in 5-7 business days barring payment complications which may include: different shipping and billing addresses, billing information inconsistent with what's on the credit card record, and orders that can't be verified by phone. Orders placed during non-business hours such as evenings, weekends, and holidays are normally processed and shipped within 5-7 days commencing from the first normal business day (Monday through Friday) following the non-business time of order placement. Anderson's has elected to partner with United Parcel Service (UPS) as our preferred carrier.

United Parcel Service (UPS): The most inexpensive way to ship is by UPS Ground. UPS shipping charges are calculated in real time within the UPS web site using actual weight of items, shipping distance from Encinitas, CA and the published UPS rates.

The more you buy, the less your shipping cost is as a percentage of your total amount and on a per unit basis. For example: shipping one garden trowel may cost $10 however shipping eight trowels may cost only $20 ($2.50 each).

All UPS shipments are insured for damage and missing packages by UPS. Andersonslacostanursery.com is not responsible for any physical damage to products by the shipping company.

Choose the Adult Signature Required option if you don't want the UPS driver to leave your package at your doorstep, which is often important for residential deliveries to apartment complexes where you don't expect anybody home during regular UPS delivery hours. Andersonslacostanursery.com is NOT responsible for any loss or damage due to packages left at your doorstep by UPS drivers.

Regular UPS delivery hours are Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. We cannot guarantee the arrival date of the packages via UPS but our experience indicates that UPS is the optimal choice for shipping.

How to Return an Item:

You must contact us at or (760) 753-3153. Please provide your order number, name, item(s) for which you are requesting a return, and the reason you want to return them. You will be issued a RETURN MERCHANDISE AUTHORIZATION (RMA) number by our customer service representative. Clearly mark your RMA number on every package being returned. After receiving your RMA number, pack the defective item(s) very well with all the original packaging and ship to the address below via UPS or insured Parcel Post. Customers are responsible for the shipping cost of shipping items back. We must receive the returned item within 15 business days of issuing the RMA number. This 15 day window allows ample time for the return to arrive via UPS or Insured Parcel post from anywhere in the country.

Returns sent to Andersonslacostanursery.com without the RETURN AUTHORIZATION NUMBER clearly marked on the package or after the fifteen (15) days time period provided for shipment of returned merchandise has expired will not be accepted. Unaccepted items will be returned at the sender's expense. Return shipping costs are not refundable.
