Drought Tolerant Plants

Buy Drought Tolerant Plants from Anderson's La Costa Nursery Encinitas

We do live in a desert (envision San Diego County without the Colorado River water being pumped in) and are increasingly reminded of our need to conserve our most precious (and needed) resource. Over the past five years Anderson’s has expanded our interest, knowledge and plant selections to do our part in the ever growing need to conserve. Set aside a section of your yard for native and California Friendly plants. With more than 6,000 to choose from you won’t have to sacrifice beauty to save water. Anderson’s stocks a broad and growing array of these “drought friendly” selections and is increasing our retail space allocation each year to become a leader in the local nursery industry.

As well as our great selection of California natives we offer a great selection of drought tolerant Australian, South African and Mediterranean natives.

Shrubs:

  • California Redbud

  • Ceanothus 'Concha' - California lilac
  • Fremontedendron (Flannel Bush)
